What’s New for the 2023 BMW iX?
The midsize BMW iX generated immediate attention from drivers in Mamaroneck when it was introduced in 2022. In addition to offering the full benefits of all-electric driving, the iX has three rows of seats and all of the luxury you expect from a BMW. Going into its second year, the BMW iX has one major update. Specifically, the 2023 BMW iX M60 is introduced as a new trim level. This dual-motor, all-wheel-drive system produces 610 combined horsepower and a range of 288 miles. Many of the mechanical options available with the iX’s lower trim are standard in the M60. These include four-wheel steering and an adaptive air suspension. The other trim level, the xDrive50, is unchanged under the hood. This is also a dual-motor system with all-wheel drive. It generates 516 horsepower and has a 324-mile range.
The BMW iX’s eye-catching façade receives no updates for 2023. This SUV is easily recognized on the road with its tall, narrow grille featuring the brand’s kidney-style shape. The triangular air vents flanking the grille are large and boldly defined. The thin headlights have a minimalistic, modern look with a segmented LED light bar. The sides of the iX are equally distinguished with confident definition over the fenders and the bottom of the doors. The new M60’s exterior features include soft-close doors, laser headlights, blue exterior trim, 21-inch wheels, darker taillights, and all-season or summer performance tires.
Both iX trims have a curved display featuring a 14.9-inch touch display screen and a 12.3-inch driver’s panel. They also have a navigation system, multiple USB ports, wireless connections for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a power liftgate, a four-zone climate control system, a wireless charging pad, automated parking, a lane departure alert, forward collision avoidance, and a blind-spot warning. Standard equipment added to the new M60 trim includes glass and wood controls, the Driving Assistance package, heated front and rear seats, a heated steering wheel, heated doors and armrests, a drive recorder, remote vehicle parking, active driving assistance, wireless hotspot, massaging front seats and other premium features.
