What’s New for the 2024 BMW XM?
The advanced BMW XM made its grand debut in the 2023 model year, electrifying the market with its striking design and premium luxuries. While the model is only in its second year in 2024, the XM brings several notable improvements online for drivers and passengers. The most notable update is the addition of the XM Red Line version. This is a more powerful trim level with red accents and a few other upgrades across the interior and exterior. Specifically, the XM Red Line has an impressive plug-in hybrid engine with 738 horsepower. It requires just 3.7 seconds to reach 60 miles per hour. The standard plug-in hybrid engine that was available in the 2023 model year also continues to be available. It produces 644 horsepower and needs 3.8 seconds to hit 60 miles per hour. The XM and XM Red Line have active anti-roll bars, adaptive dampers, and a coil-spring suspension.
Except for the red accents on the exterior of the XM Red Line, there are no changes to the façade between 2023 and 2024. This model stands apart from other BMW models with its aggressive, angled profile and its sharp corners and accents. The hood is flat and cascades at the last minute to link to the black grille. The grille takes an innovative spin on BMW’s classic, kidney-shaped grille. Aggressive, angled air vents and two-part, linear LED headlights accompany the grille’s sharp corners. The rear haunches are rigorously flared, and the lower section of the doors are strongly accented.
The BMW XM’s interior is captivating, with a curved housing for the driver’s gauges and the central display screen. The edgy look on the exterior is brought inside the cabin with uniquely shaped air vents and center stack housing. The two-row cabin also features a Bowers & Wilkins Diamond sound system with illuminated tweeters, fiber optic lighting in the suede headliner, a panoramic sunroof, a wireless hotspot, iDrive 8.5 tech, wireless smart drive connections, SiriusXM, heated seats, and others. Likewise, the 2024 XM is marvelously appointed with advanced safety technologies, including lane centering, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, and a lane departure warning.
