What’s New for the 2027 BMW X7?

The midsize BMW X7 is a standout among luxury midsize SUVs. It offers next-level features, powerful performance, and sophisticated styling to elevate your time behind the wheel. In 2027, you’ll find a few updates to the BMW X7.

Among the changes to the X7 is the elimination of the Alpina XB7 from the trim levels. This elite SUV will now be available as a standalone model. In addition, every X7 trim level now includes hands-free driving with adaptive cruise control. Performance is also enhanced by now-standard rear-wheel steering.

The overall style of the BMW X7 retains its full appeal from 2026. The tall roofline supports the spaciousness of the interior and subtly raked rear. The profile shows off gentle curvature, while the sides feature both smooth contouring and crisp, angled definition lines. The small grille stands upright and features BMW’s classic design along with a column-style mesh pattern. Slender headlights feature a pair of LED elements, and they sit above a boomerang-style element that houses the fog lights and air inlets.

The 2027 BMW X7 is offered with two trim levels. The X7 xDrive40i comes with a turbocharged 3.0-liter, inline-six engine. This unit produces 375 horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque. Additional equipment includes an eight-speed auto transmission, all-wheel drive, and a self-leveling suspension. The X7 M60i is outfitted with a turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 engine. This system gives you 523 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque. It has all the mechanical features of the base trim level, plus a sport differential and sport brakes.

Depending on the trim level selected, the 2027 X7 could come with a Harman Kardon sound system, soft-close doors, an infotainment system with gesture control, a surround-view camera, a 14.9-inch infotainment system screen, multi-contoured and heated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, a dual-action powered liftgate, wireless device charging, and several other features.
