The two 2024 BMW X1 trim levels have different performance capabilities. The base xDrive28i is outfitted with a 241-horsepower, turbo 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine. The M35i xDrive has a performance-tuned variation of this powertrain, generating 312 horsepower. Both are connected to a seven-speed auto, dual-clutch transmission, and all-wheel drive. The 2024 BMW X3 is also available with two trim levels. The sDrive30i has a 248-horsepower, turbo four-cylinder, 2.0-liter engine. It pairs with rear-wheel drive and an eight-speed auto transmission. The M40i comes with a V6, 3.0-liter mild-hybrid engine with 382 horsepower. This system has all-wheel drive and the same transmission.

Appearance

The smaller of these two luxury crossovers is the X1. Its expressive style includes a tall, gently descending roofline with crisp side contouring. The nose has an edgy look with sharp corners through the two-part grille and L-shaped air vents. The slanted headlamps also have sharply angled LED accent bars. The X3 has a flatter roofline with a linear personality line across the sides. The two-part grille is more rounded, and the large air vents follow suit. The headlights are slightly angled and include curved LED accents.
