The same three powertrains offered in the 2024 X5 are available in 2025. The first system is a turbo 3.0-liter, six-cylinder engine with mild-hybrid tech. It produces 375 horsepower and comes with an eight-speed auto transmission. A PHEV version of the X5 is available. It pairs a six-cylinder gas engine with two electric motors. The system has a 40-mile all-electric range and generates 483 total horsepower. A high-performance, turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine with mild-hybrid tech is also available, and it gives you 523 horsepower.

Appearance

The façade of the X5 is unchanged between these two model years. The look is decidedly sophisticated with chrome trim across the kidney-style grille, front bumper, lower door panels and side air inlets. The deeply contoured sides are in contrast to the molded rear haunches. The hood is beautifully defined with a swooping curve. At the front, the LED headlights have a double element and trend into a point. Exterior features vary by trim and may include 20-inch to 22-inch wheels, adaptive cornering headlights, run-flat tires and heated and power-folding side mirrors.

Features

The primary improvements introduced to the 2025 X5 are lane change assist and Highway Assist. Highway Assist is an optional, hands-free driving feature that allows drivers to initiate an automatic lane change movement simply by looking toward the rear mirror. Features offered in the 2024 and 2025 X5 are a Bowers & Wilkins sound system, heated seats in both rows, a head-up display, massaging front seats, a heated steering wheel, a four-zone climate control system, automated parking assistance, soft-close doors, the Sky Lounge LED Panoramic Roof, remote engine start, and more.
